Notes on the State of America: A Compilation of Less Commonly Discussed Facts and Historical Events - Craighton E. Gee If one is looking for a rah-rah pro-USA book this is not the place to look. It provides a substantial compilation of the sins of America. I found only a few items that seemed dubious. Almost all were familiar. It covers mucho territory and would be a good book for someone lacking an overall sense of all the evils in which America has been an actor. In looking at the resources used, he relies heavily on Noam Chomsky and the San Francisco Chronicle. Although I did not find excessive fault with his statements, it might have been stronger with a broader base of resources. The value here is in casting aside PollyAnna-ish notions of the USA as a benign force throughout history. Our country has done some pretty awful things. The good things our country has done will be found elsewhere.
